Five Connecticut juveniles died in a fiery crash early Sunday in New York's Hudson Valley, authorities said.
Shortly after midnight, the 16-year-old driver of a Nissan Rogue lost control of the vehicle as he veered off the Hutchinson River Parkway in Scarsdale and rammed into a tree at around 12:20 a.m.
The impact caused the car to burst into flames, police in Westchester County said.
The victims were only identified as four boys and a girl, all from Connecticut, and aged between 17 and 8 years old.
A 9-year-old boy who was in the cargo of the vehicle survived after managing to escape out of the rear with minor injuries.
Authorities are still investigating the single-car crash.
