Perry County news, Pennsylvania news.

A Pennsylvania mother was attacked and killed by her neighbor's dogs when she went to feed them late Thursday.

Police said that Kristin Potter, 38, was with her son when she was savagely mauled by two Great Danes in the 700 block of Clouser Hollow Road in Centre Township in southwest New Bloomfield.

According to Perry County Coroner Robert Ressler, Potter's son ran back to his home and told his brother about the attack.

The coroner added that it was Potter's neighbor who had asked her to feed their three Great Danes, as she had previously done for them. One of the canines was reportedly not involved in the mauling.

The aggressive animals prevented rescuers from tending to the badly injured Potter; Animal control services assisted by tranquilizing the dogs but Potter couldn't be saved.

State police said that the dogs had since been euthanized.
