Worker mauled to death by employer's four dogs in California

A 42-year-old worker was mauled to death by the owner of a California business early Tuesday.

Deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff's Office responded to the business in Jurupa Valley over reports of a person screaming at around 7:30 a.m.

Victim Mateo Salvador was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

  • Police said that the owner of the business and the four dogs was not present at the time of the mauling attack.

    The Department of Animal Services said that the owner surrendered the canines, three Belgian Malinois and a Cane Corso, following the incident.

    “This is a tragedy and our thoughts go out to this gentleman's family and loved ones,” said Animal Services Director Erin Gettis in a release.
