'Impossible to get yourself out': Iowa man dies after being trapped in grain bin

Authorities in Dewitt, Iowa said that a man died after being trapped in a partially filled grain bin Wednesday.

Deputies and firefighters with Dewitt and Clinton County departments rushed to the scene in the 200 block of 320th Avenue at around 7:15 p.m.

Firefighters managed to get the victim out of the bin but by that time, he was dead. The victim's identity was not revealed pending next of kin notification.

    “It can bring you faster than you actually realize,” farmer Chad Petersen said.

    “It's very difficult, if not impossible to get yourself out in flowing grain.”
