An Alabama boy was stabbed and killed early Thursday by his mother who also stabbed a man inside the Hartselle home, police said.
41-year-old Jennifer Long was arrested and charged with capital murder over the fatal stabbing of her 8-year-old son.
The boy was pronounced dead by Morgan County Sheriff's deputies at around 5:30 a.m. A man suffering stab wounds was airlifted to a hospital in stable condition.

Authorities did not identify the slain boy but Morgan County School District confirmed that he was a student.
“The student will be remembered for the joy he brought to his friends, classmates, and teachers,” Superintendent Tracie Turrentine said.
“My condolences and thoughts go out to the family at this time.”
