Singer Ben Kweller's son dies at 16 in tragic car crash: 'We'll never get over him'

Singer and songwriter Ben Kweller announced the death of his 16-year-old son Dorian following a car accident Monday.

The 41-year-old musician's heartbreaking Instagram post was shared on Tuesday and in it, the 'Wasted & Ready” artist shared his pride in his late son who was following in his footsteps.

“There's no way that I can be typing this but I am...Our son, Dorian Zev Kweller, was killed last night. He was only 16 and he was a true legend. Kindest, gentle soul, a friend to all.”

    “Dorian Zev wrote and recorded songs every day. A true poet from the day he started speaking. Only a few of his recordings were released but he was on a path and excited about his journey.”

    The grieving father said that Dorian's “first big gig” was about to come at the South by Southwest Conference and Festivals in Texas.

    “My last text with him was about the merch we wanted to make. My baby boy was at the startling line with so much life ahead of him...I have no idea why things like this happen.”
