Former child actor Austin Majors dies aged 27

“NYPD Blue” actor Austin Majors passed away Saturday at the age of 27; his family said.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has yet to confirm a cause of death for Majors but sources familiar with the investigation said that foul play is not suspected in his death.

The late actor's family issued a statement, mourning the “loving, artistic, brilliant and kind human being” Austin was.

    Majors starred as Theo Sipowicz throughout seven seasons of “NYPD Blue”. He earned the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Television Series in 2002 for his participation in “NYPD Blue.”

    Austin was also nominated for Best Performance in a Voice-Over Role the following year for his contribution to “Treasure Planet.”

    He also made appearances in NCIS, ER, Hercules, Threshold, Desperate Housewives, How I met Your Mother, and An Accidental Christmas.
