Roanoke Rapids news, North Carolina news.

A North Carolina mother was arrested earlier this week after the body of her deceased infant was located inside a suitcase in a closet at her Roanoke Rapids home.

Officers responded to a wellness check request for a baby boy early Wednesday morning and made the horrific discovery inside a closet.

The 3-month-old boy's body was wrapped in a blanket and placed inside a suitcase; authorities determine that he had been there for at least 12 hours.
