Baltimore shooting, crash leaves one dead, 4 injured including children

Baltimore Police are investigating a shooting that resulted in a crash and multiple injuries near Pennsylvania Avenue and Lauren Street late Saturday.

Reports of gunshots being fired at the intersection emerged at around 6:40 p.m. Officers found five people injured, four had gunshot wounds and one later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Preliminary reports revealed that the deceased victim was a male bystander. The other victims were another bystander shot in the arm, a woman, and two children who were inside a car, driving down the street, when they were struck.

  • Police listed the woman's condition as critical. They said that she suffered gunshot wounds and lost control of the vehicle before it crashed into a pole.

    The children were also listed in critical condition: A 2-year-old with gunshot wounds and a 6-year-old with severe injuries resulting from the collision.

    Investigators aren't sure whether one or multiple gunmen fired shots at the victims nor if they were after the bystanders or the occupants of the vehicle.
