Hours after a Haywood County, Tennessee man turned himself in over the disappearance of his ex-wife, authorities announced that they have located a body near his home.
Kevin Watson asked someone to call the police for him at around 5 p.m. Friday and surrendered at the caller's Tipton County home.
At 8:30 p.m., detectives confirmed that they found a body suspected to be that of Watson's ex-wife, Britney Watson.
Britney, 34, went missing on January 7 and since, agents with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency had been looking for her, to no avail.
Relatives of the couple said that they had divorced in 2018 but were trying to reconcile recently.
Investigators launched a manhunt for Kevin Watson on Jan. 15, describing him as armed and suicidal after finding a note in his abandoned truck near a wooded area of Brownsville.
