Multi-car crash on Chicago expressway leaves 2 dead, 5 critical

A tragic multi-car crash left two people dead in Chicago early Sunday, the Cook County Bureau of Administration said.

The crash took place at around 2 a.m. local time on the Dan Ryan Expressway near East 47th Street on the South Side of the city, authorities said.

    An investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is ongoing. Authorities said that the collision involved at least two vehicles.

    Officers were processing the scene until 9:30 a.m. when they reopened the express lanes on the expressway.
