The Coast Guard and Hawaii Fire Department continue their search for a fisherman who went overboard Sunday while hooking a “huge” tuna off the Hawaii coast.
Mark Knittle, 63, remains missing two days after he fell overboard roughly four miles off the coast. His friend heard him say “this fish is huge” before the fall.
The friend tried to catch the line before jumping after Knittle in an attempt to save him but the fisherman was nowhere to be found.
The search for Knittle continues off Honaunau's west coast. The Coast Guard is using a cutter and aircraft while the Hawaii Fire Department agents are looking for the missing man using boats.
