Dallas girl, 14, fatally shoots younger brother while targeting another girl

Authorities in Dallas, Texas arrested a 14-year-old girl and charged her with murder over the fatal shooting of her younger brother, 11, Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded to the Cedar Crest scene at around 2 p.m. over reports of a shooting in the parking lot of the Southern Oaks Apartments complex.

Investigators learned that a 14-year-old girl “retrieved a handgun and fired toward the direction of the female she was fighting.”

    The shooter tried to escape and hid in a neighboring housing complex before her arrest.

    “This is a horrible incident,” Dallas Police Sergeant Warren Mitchell said adding that “a beef between two juveniles led to the deadly outcome.”
