An Oklahoma boy, 9, died early Friday after he was stabbed by his 12-year-old sister inside their Tulsa home, police said.
The girl then woke her parents up in the middle of the night to let them know that she stabbed her brother.
First responders tried to save the boy by performing CPR at the River Bank Plaza apartment before taking him to a hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
Unfortunately, the boy succumbed to his injuries just after 2:30 a.m., according to Police.
The sister is currently being held at the Family Center for Juvenile Justice as investigators work to determine a motive.
“Obviously, we did some interviews with a 12-year-old are very preliminary,” Captain Meulenberg said.
“This unfortunately has no easy end or easy path, this is going to be a long convoluted process that's going to be extremely taxing on everyone involved in this.”
