Body of boy killed in Oakland found buried 60 miles away in Napa County

The remains of a 2-year-old Fairfield boy were discovered in a shallow grave in Napa County, roughly 60 miles away from where authorities believe he was killed in Oakland.

Ja'mari “Guerrero” Madkins died on December 23. His remains were reportedly transported to Napa County after receiving word about a boy who had been buried there.

  • As the circumstances surrounding the boy's death remained under investigation, relatives and friends said that Ja'mari's family was “grieving and heartbroken.”

    “He just had the cutest curls,” a family friend said of the victim. “He loved his grandma's rice and beans. He was always stirring up trouble, like a toddler. He was just a joy having him in the house.”
