Two Bay St. Louis officers responding to a call for service at a Motel 6 were fatally shot early Wednesday morning by a female suspect who then took her own life.
The incident occurred shortly before 4:30 a.m. Wednesday when the officers encountered the woman who then fired at the first cop killing him at the scene.

The second officer succumbed to his injuries later in the morning. The unidentified suspect turned the gun on herself.
“MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence,” The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation said.
“Additional information may be made public at a later time.”
