Two twins died in a tragic house fire in Molena, Georgia on Sunday hours after their first birthday.
Authorities in Pike County said that the death was accidental and it happened as the family planned a party for the twins.
“Deputies responded to a house fire last night and we are saddened at the loss of two children,” the Pike County Sheriff’s Office said.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.”
A GoFundMe page for the family raised $5,000 of its $10,000 goal within hours.
“We had a very tragic event happen the early morning of 11/13/22. There was a house fire and unfortunately, it took the lives of these two beautiful babies,” the victims’ older sister said on the page.
“I am the sister of these two, my biological father and his wife do not have the funds for a funeral, because we were planning their first birthday party.”
“These two sweet babies just turned 1 on 11/12/22/ and they are so loved and missed dearly.”
