2 dead, one injured in murder-suicide incident at Dallas Medical Examiner’s Office

Two people were killed, and a third sustained injuries when gunfire erupted in the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office Tuesday evening.

Officers were at the scene at around 4:30 p.m. over reports of an active shooter on the building’s second floor.

The victims were a man and a woman, Dallas County Sheriff’s Official Will Fritz said adding that an armed person shot another before taking their own life.

  • “It’s heartbreaking. I’m so sorry this happened. We’ll have grief counseling ser up for anybody who needs it,” Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said.

    “There is no need for the community to be alarmed, there is no suspect at-large,” Sheriff Marian Brown added.

    “We do believe that there is an employee here that is involved in this and we do believe that one of the subjects deceased was indeed an employee.”
