The Amber Alert issued for a kidnapping suspect and his baby daughter late Tuesday was halted hours later after both died in a tragic murder-suicide early Wednesday morning.
Rosenberg Police said in a grim update that 1-year-old Leylani Ordonez was stabbed to death by her 24-year-old father Alexander Barrios Ordonez after he kidnapped the baby from her babysitter’s home.
The father had earlier in the evening, at around 6 p.m., stabbed his boss and stole the man’s tow truck he used in the kidnapping.
Authorities located Ordonez’s truck and after an hour-long chase, the man got out of the vehicle with a bloodied baby in his arms. Ordonez then stabbed himself before his arrest.
“No amount of training can prepare you for this type of scene,” Rosenberg PD Lt. Suni Jugueta said.
