6 victims of massive Hartland, Wisconsin apartment complex fire were shot before blaze

Investigators in Hartland, Wisconsin shared a shocking update Monday over the huge apartment complex fire that left six people dead last week.

Police now believe the massive fire was part of a murder-suicide that claimed the lives of two three-year-olds, two teens and two adults Friday.

Hartland Police Chief Torin Misko said that the four kids along with Connor and Jessica McKisick each suffered a single gunshot wound adding that Connor’s wound was self-inflicted.

  • Detectives also discovered an ignitable liquid in the apartment unit as well as multiple firearms.

    “First responding police and fire crews were met with a large amount of fire and began to rescue individuals from the building and the balconies of the building,” Misko said.

    “This is a tragic incident for the family of the deceased, our first responders and the Hartland community.”
