Authorities in Staten Island are questioning a tenant at a building after his friend was caught on surveillance footage dumping a lifeless woman in a trash bin late Thursday night.
The victim was found in the bin outside the building in the 240 block of Heberton Avenue in Port Richmond at around 6 a.m.
NYPD investigators believe the young woman was dumped by a fellow partygoer after dying from a drug overdose.
The owner of the building where the grisly discovery was made said that he had footage of the suspect tossing the body and he identified him as a tenant’s friend.
“My cameras picked up everything,” he said. “He put her in the blue bin then covered her with blankets and dragged her outside and left her laying over there”
“I saw something pop out from the blankets. I believe it was her hand.”
The owner said that both the tenant and his suspected friend were home Thursday night and that he has been trying to evict the tenant over suspicious activity.
“I’ve owned this building since 1999. I’ve had tenants pass away in there, but it’s never been a crime scene.”
