One teen is dead and two others critical after a tragic crash involving a stolen Maserati in St. Petersburg, Florida early Sunday.
Keondrick Lang and Mario Bonilla, both 15, and 16-year-old Malachi Daniels were caught on aerial video stealing an unlocked Maserati from a driveway at around 3:30 a.m.
Lang got behind the wheel of the luxury car after finding the keys inside and drove “normal” before being intercepted by patrol deputies along 62nd Avenue.
The teens kept accelerating reaching 100 mph before eventually losing control of the vehicle and hitting a curb. The impact sent the Maserati flying in the air and flipping over before it landed in a parking lot.
None of the teen exited the mangled Maserati. Officers responding to the crash pronounced Bonilla dead at the scene. Lang was not expected to survive but remained critical on Tuesday.
The third teen sustained non-life-threatening injuries. A .25 caliber handgun belonging to the teens was discovered inside the wreck.
