Boston student shot by classmate outside high school

A Boston student was shot outside his high school by a classmate Tuesday morning, police said.

The male student suffered a single gunshot wound and was rushed to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Police said that the shooter is also a student at Jeremiah E. Burke High School. He was arrested shortly after the incident.

  • “A subsequent search of the area led to the recovery of a firearm,” Superintendent Felipe Colon said noting that an investigation is underway.

    District Attorney Kevin Hayden added: “Our thoughts and our prayers and our primary concern is with this school community and with the entire community.”

    “This is clearly still an active and ongoing investigation. We will do everything we can to handle this case thoroughly.”
