An Irvine toddler was fatally struck Tuesday afternoon by an Amazon delivery van, police said.

The 23-month-old girl was struck in the parking lot of an apartment community located in the 300 block of Estancia at around 3:30 p.m.

“Preliminary, it appears a collision occurred in the parking lot between an Amazon van and the child,” the Irvine Police Department said. “The van is operated by a third party contractor.”
