Despite her predicted loss in the GOP primary, Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney has drawn the praise and applaud of many on social media for her courage to stand against former President Donald Trump and his allies.
“She’ll lose as an American hero who defended her country & her Constitution,” former US representative Joe Walsh said on Twitter.
“She’ll lose as a woman of immense courage, standing alone in a party of cowards. Thank you, Liz.”
Cheney had been described as “disloyal” to the Republican Party for opposing Trump, voting to impeach him, and refuting his unfounded claims of rigged elections.
“Liz Cheney has guts, is an original and goes against the grain, and MAGA kool aid drinking group think that’s a cancer in GOP leadership,” Meghan McCain, daughter of late US Senator John McCain, said.
“She should be commended no matter what happens today. If all you can be today is someone that bends the knee to MAGA – this party is a waste.”
