Skateboarder fatally struck by car in Longmont

A skateboarder was fatally hit by a vehicle on Wednesday and investigators are working to determine whether alcohol and drugs were involved in the fatal crash., police said.

The 22-year-old victim was on a skateboard at around 2 a.m. Wednesday, traveling on Third Avenue between Lashley and Alpine streets in Longmont, when he was struck by a car driven by a 21-year-old man.
