A skateboarder was fatally hit by a vehicle on Wednesday and investigators are working to determine whether alcohol and drugs were involved in the fatal crash., police said.
The 22-year-old victim was on a skateboard at around 2 a.m. Wednesday, traveling on Third Avenue between Lashley and Alpine streets in Longmont, when he was struck by a car driven by a 21-year-old man.

Local authorities did not reveal the skateboarder's identity other than saying that he was visiting the town and that he was not a resident.
No criminal charges have been filed over the fatal crash as the investigation focus on factors including drunk driving for both men, and speed.
