Father arrested days after newborn was found dead in Houston motel

A 33-year-old Texas man was arrested Thursday in connection with the death of his newborn son who was found dead in a motel on Tuesday.

Police arrested Jamal Edward Robertson and charged him with “injury to a child and serious bodily injury” days after his baby son was found dead at a Motel 6.

Officers and first responders rushed to the Motel at 15101 Katy Freeway at approximately 3 p.m. over reports of an “unresponsive baby boy.”

    Investigators said that the victim, who was just one month old, suffered injuries and took a person into custody at the scene before Robertson’s arrest.

    “Robertson, the child’s father, was detained and subsequently charged in the incident,” police added.
