A beloved Texas pastor succumbed to gunshot wounds he sustained during a road-rage incident, police said.
Reverend Dr. Ronald K Mouton was killed following an argument with Uber driver Deshawn Longmire, 23, while both traveled on the Gulf freeway.
Eyewitnesses said that Longmire and the victim had an altercation at a stoplight but as they started moving away, the Uber driver “stretched his arm out of the driver window with a pistol in his hand.”
After fatally shooting Mouton, the suspect ran a stop sign trying to run away but was arrested shortly later.
The victim worked as a senior pastor at the East Bethel Missionary Baptist Church for nearly three decades.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, near his church. He leaves behind a wife and ten grandchildren.
