Rapper JayDaYoungan was reportedly shot and killed outside his home a few hours after posting a video of his unique son; he was only 24.
Born Javorius Tykies Scott was rushed to a hospital in critical condition shortly before 6 p.m. before he passed away just before midnight.
The artist, who racked up 2.7 million followers on Instagram and 1.2 million on YouTube, was shot with a relative who is said to be in stable condition.
“This is a very fluid situation. Our officers are working diligently to identify the subjects responsible for these crimes,” police said.
JayDaYoungan had signed a deal with Atlantic Records about five years ago and was best known for “Spinning” and “Taking Off.”
He was released from jail last month after a five-year prison stint over gun and assault-related charges.
