An unfortunate elderly woman had been mauled to death in an alligator-infested pond near her Florida home, authorities said.
The victim accidentally fell into the pond near her home at Boca Royale Golf and Country Club at around 7:47 p.m. before the reptiles dragged her underneath the waters.

Eyewitnesses said that at least two alligators swam toward the woman and grabbed her as she struggled to get away, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials removed large reptiles from the pond and launched an investigation into the incident.
The victim's identity was not made public pending next-of-kin notification.
