A horrific video caught by an inmate in Georgia showed a lifeless body slumped over a cell block railing as other prisoners claimed the decedent was left there for at least “two and a half hours.”
“No officer has come back in this building [sic],” the narrator said. “Ain’t nobody in over three hours. We have an inmate here that is dead…hanging right here for the last two hours at least. Two and a half hours. Dead.”

The footage was filmed on July 3 at Ware State Prison in Waycross. It also depicted a vacant control center in the inmate’s section of the jail and no signs of officers.
It was later revealed that the dead inmate was 54-year-old John Ekers and no foul play is suspected in his death.
