A baby was found in cardiac arrest Friday after his father forgot him in a sweltering car and went to work at a North Carolina manufacturing company.
Mebane Police officers rushed to the scene outside Armacell company where they found they learned that a one-year-old boy was left in a hot car for hours.
“Upon arrival, CPR was being administrated on an unresponsive 12-month-old,” police said. “Unfortunately, life-saving measures were unsuccessful.”
Investigators confirmed that the toddler’s father worked at the company but “have not determined how long the child was in the vehicle.”
Temperatures in the area reached the upper 80s on Friday noon. No charges have been immediately filed against the father as of Wednesday.
