UPS worker dies from heat while on job as temperatures reached 90s in California

A UPS driver passed away from heat while working his shift around Pasadena where temperatures reached the upper 90s Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

24-year-old Esteban Chavez Jr. lost consciousness in his truck for around 20 minutes before someone spotted him and called for help.

“This is all so sudden,” the victim’s father said. “He just turned 24 on Friday and he ended up passing away the day after, which was the 25th.”

    “It hurts, it’s a pain that’s never gonna go away. And that’s something I wish on nobody, having the experience to lose your child.”
