Remains of missing Georgia woman found in shallow grave in her backyard

The remains of a Georgia woman who went missing in November 2021 were found in a shallow grave in her own backyard on Wednesday.

Authorities had initially asked the public to help locate 64-year-old Julie Marie Catron suggesting that she “may have traveled from Columbus, Georgia to Destin, Florida or Crestview, Florida.”

  • Earlier this week, on June 29, the Columbus Police Department announced that Catron’s body was found buried in her backyard on Carriage Drive.

    “In the course of a missing person investigation, Columbus Police Department investigators have located what appears to be human remains on a property in the 2600 block of Carriage Drive,” the statement said.

    No arrests were made in connection with Catron’s murder.
