Authorities in Missouri are investigating the gruesome murder of a heavily pregnant woman who was decapitated at her Alton home Thursday.
22-year-old Liese Dodd was found by her mother who came to check on her to find her headless body inside the residence and her severed head in a dumpster. The victim was due next month.
Investigators said that the suspected killer was immediately named as Dodd’s ex-boyfriend Deundrea Holloway, 22, with whom she had a volatile relationship for the past couple of years.
“Every murder is absolutely terrible. I will never take that away, but what happened to 22-year-old Liese Dodd, it’s abominable. It is completely terrible what happened to her,” Alton Police Chief Marcos Pulido said while holding Dodd’s picture. “She was savagely, savagely killed. She was decapitated by a freaking savage monster.”
Holloway was apprehended in Gillespie, Illinois, and charged with first-degree murder, intentional homicide to an unborn child, dismembering a human body, motor vehicle offenses, and concealment of a homicide death.
“We believe the evidence will show that the defendant’s gruesome actions here killed both a young woman and the child she carried in her womb,” Madison County State Attorney Thomas Haine said.
“In the eyes of the law, both these killings are equal and he will now face justice for both.”
