A California man and his two sons are facing charges for “viciously” assaulting a suspect who attempted to burglarize their business late last month.
John Sparks, 50, called 911 on April 27 to report that he caught a suspect burglar at his Sparks Custom Pools’ business with the help of his two adult sons, Brenden and Trenton.
When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect was lying on the ground, his hands zip-tied behind his back, suffering significant injuries to the head and face.
It was later determined that Sparks and his sons beat the suspected burglar for about 45 minutes, kicked and punched him, and even used blunt items to hit him while he was zip-tied.
The Sparks were charged with assault with a gun, a deadly weapon other than a gun, false imprisonment with violence, and assault on a person with force likely to produce great bodily injury.
