Cobb County authorities have refuted rapper Young Thug’s lawyers’ claims that his detention conditions were “torturous” and inhumane in a motion seeking bail for the notorious inmate.
“This is a jail, it is a detention center. It’s not the Ritz Carlton. So you have to recognize that,” an official at the county’s jail said.
Young Thug, born Jeffrey Lamar Williams, is facing charges of conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act and involvement in gang violence.
The artist is accused of helping set up the Young Slime Life Gang, responsible for up to 85 percent of gang crimes in Atlanta.
His attorneys stated that jail officials are keeping him from bathing or exercising and that he has no radio, TV, or any media while incarcerated.
