Atlanta Rappers Young Thug and Gunna were arrested Monday on criminal gang activity charges and booked into jail, reports said.
The rappers, whose real names are respectively Jeffrey Lamar Williams and Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, are among 28 people indicted for conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act over a 2018 incident.
The other defendants include more members of Young Thug’s record label and imprint YSL declared as a “criminal street gang” with affiliations to the Bloods gang, according to the New York Times.
“Mr. Williams has committed no violations of law, whatsoever,” the 30-year-old artist’s lawyer commented.
“We will fight this case ethically, legally, and zealously. Mr. Williams will be cleared.”
