Through tears, the distraught widow of a slain Chinese deliveryman made an emotional plea for justice at a candlelight vigil on Wednesday.
Zhiwen Yan was 45 years old and a father of three working extra time as a delivery worker for Great Wall Chinese restaurant in Forest Hills when he was gunned down outside his workplace on April 30.
“New York City, you owe me a life…you owe me a husband…you owe an explanation to the Chinese community,” wife Kunying Zhao said.
“I want to know why since last November his boss and colleagues have been threatened multiple times and nobody could protect them. I want to know why!”
Police are suspecting a deranged customer of the eatery who had once vandalized the eatery and threatened staff with a gun.
“He was only 45 years old. He should have been able to watch his children grow up, but everything ended. The criminal, the killer used one bullet – brutally ended his life.”
