Body of missing Oregon teen, 13, found in stream less than mile from family home

A missing Oregon teen that vanished Sunday had been found dead less than one mile away from her family Beaverton’s apartment, police said.

The death of 13-year-old Milana Li was deemed “suspicious” after her body was located in a small stream in Westside Linear Park Tuesday afternoon.

“The circumstances surrounding Li’s death are suspicious. This is an ongoing investigation. Beaverton Police Detectives are investigating this case,” police said.

  • Investigators first described Li as a runaway adding that she left her family’s apartment at around 4 p.m. Sunday wearing plaid pajama pants, a dark hoodie, and Converse shoes.

    “Detectives have contacted all known associates of Milana and are concerned for Milana’s safety because of her age, lack of resources, and length of time missing,” police said Monday.

    The teen spoke Russian, according to authorities. “English is her second language which she reportedly struggles with.”
