This miraculous ending to a terrifying situation made headlines after a passenger with no idea about flying successfully landed in Florida Tuesday afternoon.

The hero passenger had no other choice but to calm down and intervene when the pilot of the Cessna Caravan he was aboard fell sick and could not fulfill his duties.

“I’ve got a serious situation here,” the Cessna Caravan passenger reportedly told air traffic control about 70 miles away from the final destination.”

The dispatchers, likely biting their nails, assisted the rookie pilot who did not even know where the plane’s position was, and coached him to accomplish a safe and steady landing.

“This is the first time I’ve ever heard of one of these [Cessna Caravans] being landed by somebody that has no aeronautical experience,” Aviation Expert John Nance said.

“The person on the airplane who had no aeronautical experience listened very carefully and obviously followed instructions with great calm. That’s what made the difference.”
