Alabama fugitive Casey White arrested after telling cops jailer ‘wife’ shot herself dead

After an 11-day long manhunt for Casey White and Vicky White, Alabama authorities arrested the two fugitives after a brief police chase in Evansville, Indiana Monday.

Shortly later, 56-year-old Vicky White died at a local hospital from a “very

serious” self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

According to law enforcement accounts, the 38-year-old inmate told arresting cops that his “wife” Vicky White had shot herself as they caught up to them.

  • Casey White was booked into jail at around 1:42 a.m. Tuesday and he is awaiting extradition to Alabama.

    “We got a dangerous man off the street today,” Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said.

    Indiana authorities received a tip Monday reporting the couple at an Evansville hotel; Vicky White was driving the Cadillac that led police in a chase before it crashed.

    “Can’t clarify how long they have been in Evansville,” Vanderburgh County Sheriff Dave Wedding said. “Lucky we stumbled upon them today.”
