Trump claims Russia invaded Ukraine because of ‘rigged’ US election

In an interview with Piers Morgan, Former President Donald Trump cited again the “rigged” 2020 presidential elections while claiming that Russia would have never invaded Ukraine were he still President.

“It is a shame all those people are dead, all because of a rigged election. Because if our election wasn’t rigged, you would’ve had nobody dead,” he said.

  • Trump then added that his administration would have responded “very strongly” criticizing the current government for “kowtowing” to Russian President Vladimir Putin when it’s about nuclear weapons.

    The former President recalled a conversation he once had with Putin regarding the consequences of invading Ukraine.

    “His response was really,” Trump said of his Russian counterpart adding that he “threatened him like he has never been threatened before.”
