California man arrested after selling fentanyl-laced cocaine to partying family, killing 3 people

A Costa Mesa drug dealer was charged Thursday in connection with three fatal overdoses that took place last October at a Newport Beach home where two couples were partying.

William Edward Dick Jr., 51, is accused of selling Samantha Haiman, 45, Andrew Adams, 43, and Desiree Temple, 43, fentanyl-laced cocaine that led to their deaths.

Investigators that four victims were having a familial dinner at the home when one suggested they buy cocaine.

  • “They eventually contacted Dick, who agreed to sell them $200 worth of cocaine, which he delivered to the house where the couples were staying,” prosecutors said.

    “After snorting the purported cocaine, all four suffered overdoses, and three of the individuals were pronounced dead at the house the next morning.”

    “In most of the cases, the victims did not know they were ingesting fentanyl, which can be deadly in tiny amounts.”
