Crash on I-70 leaves 500 pounds of marijuana spilled across Missouri highway

A crash on April 20 left at least 500 pounds of marijuana spilled across Interstate 70 in Callaway County, Missouri.

Authorities said they have arrested two Mexican suspects, Victor Gonzalez Acosta and David Mora Navarro, and charged them with drug trafficking on the unofficial cannabis celebration day.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol shared on Twitter photos of the roadway littered with weed bags.

    The crash that took place at around 7:15 a.m. involved a semi-truck of a Florissant resident, another semi driven by a Joplin resident, and the suspects’ GMC.

    The suspects and a passenger were taken to a hospital after sustaining moderate injuries. No one else was injured in the collision.
