Georgia teen, 15, arrested after intentionally setting fire to home killing younger sister

A 15-year-old Georgia boy was arrested Monday and charged with malice murder and felony murder after he intentionally set fire to his family home in Gwinnett County, killing his younger sister.

Zoe McCue, 10, died inside her bedroom late Sunday when her brother allegedly started the blaze while his mom and three suspects were at home.

  • “After the fire was brought under control, a 10-year-old female victim was located deceased in a room used as a bedroom without window access,” police said.

    “At this time, it has been determined the fire was set intentionally by a sibling of the deceased victim. This is still an active investigation and is being treated as a homicide.”

    The victim’s mother and two surviving siblings managed to escape and were not harmed; Police located the 15-year-old suspect outside the home and arrested him.
