One of three suspects arrested in connection to the Sacramento mass shooting last Sunday was identified as Smiley Martin, a violent criminal who had just walked out of jail last month.

Martin was initially set for release last year but prosecutors argued that the man “clearly has little regard for human life,” and posed “a significant, unreasonable risk of safety to the community.”
