San Angelo Police are investigating an attempted murder-suicide at a local beef plant where the couple involved worked.
A 57-year-old man took his own life, turning the gun on himself, after shooting his girlfriend, a 49-year-old coworker, at the Lone Star Beef plant.
The ordeal started at around 8:30 a.m. Friday with the couple arguing at their workplace. The woman was shot in her left shoulder and is currently listed in stable condition at Shannon Medical Center.
Police said that the perpetrator died from his injuries at the same hospital. The identities of the victims were not made public.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident that they considered to be the result of domestic violence.
