Suspect in Naomi Irion kidnapping case has extensive rap sheet, including for murder

The human remains found Tuesday in a shallow grave were confirmed as missing teen Naomi Irion, an 18-year-old who vanished from a Walmart in Fernley, Nevada on March 12.

Authorities have since arrested 41-year-old Troy Driver in connection with Irion’s disappearance. Detectives identified him from surveillance footage showing him lurking around Irion’s car outside the Walmart where was last seen alive.

Driver, a California native, had admitted to being an accessory to murder in 1997 when he helped a woman get rid of her drug dealer boyfriend’s body after she killed him.

    On Tuesday, remains of Irion were found in a gravesite in rural Churchill County, nearly 150 miles away from the Walmart where Driver allegedly kidnapped her at around 5 a.m.

    Investigators have seized his truck looking for evidence as Driver remains in custody on a $750,000 bond.
