Man mauled by tiger at Wooten’s Airboats in Everglades

A 50-year-old man who was not supposed to enter the enclosure of a tiger at the Wooten’s Airboats was reportedly attacked by the feline.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office said that the victim was an employee at the Everglades’ site but was not allowed to access the animal’s enclosure.

“We are having a hard time comprehending this happening against but want to share this breaking news with you,” the Sheriff’s statement said.

    This occurred approximately 30-45 minutes ago,” the statement added.

    “Preliminary (very) info indicates a tiger in an enclosure at that location was being fed by its caretaker when a 50-year-old male, an employee of Wooten’s who was not authorized to be with the tiger, entered the tigers’ enclosure.”

    “The tiger attacked the man and caused injuries to both arms. The man has been transported to a hospital by EMS.”
